Newcastle Golf Club

1999: Golf Clubhouse in Newcastle, WA

The Golf Club at Newcastle is located on high ground overlooking the City of Seattle, Lake Washington and the Olympic Mountains. The site, a former landfill over coal mine tunnels, required unique structural and architectural solutions. Calcutta's Restaurant and the adjacent bar, designed in the British Colonial style, are reminiscent of Raffle's Bar in Singapore. The Banquet Room with its barrel-vaulted and paneled ceiling and spectacular views evokes the International Exposition style.
